The Data
The majority of women who give birth in the UK deliver their babies in a hospital (2025, only 2.3% opted for a home birth).
Founded by an experienced independent midwife, who deeply understands the importance of postnatal care support within the community, away from the hospital walls and environment. She noticed a severe lack of support from health practitioners once mothers leave the hospital. Driven by a hunger to fill this gap, Anitar built a network of experienced postnatal nannies to support and provide extra care for exhausted mothers who might be struggling with breastfeeding or overwhelmed with exhaustion.

Mothers who deliver via Caesarean generally remain in the hospital for a minimum of 48 hours, whereas most others return home after anything up to 24 hours.
Follow-up care generally consists of a brief call and a visit from a midwife to check that everything is okay. For many women, this lack of adequate care and support at home means they struggle to find enough time to rest and recover.
Excellent support and aftercare help to ensure that a broad range of future difficulties, including postnatal depression, are avoided.
